Silicone Extrusion Services
Continuous silicone profiles, tubes, cords, and custom cross-sections — from weather seals and medical tubing to complex multi-lumen profiles. Any length, any hardness.
What Is Silicone Extrusion?
Silicone extrusion forces uncured silicone compound through a custom-shaped die. The continuous profile is then immediately cured in a hot-air tunnel (200–400°C), producing a uniform cross-section along the entire length.
Extrusion tooling (dies) costs significantly less than compression or injection molds, making extrusion the most economical process for any product that has a constant cross-section along its length — such as sealing strips, gaskets, tubing, and cord stock.
Our Extrusion Process
Select silicone grade (FDA, high-temp, flame-retardant, conductive) and hardness. Custom die machined to your exact cross-section.
Silicone extruded through die and immediately enters hot-air curing oven (200–400°C). Line speed adjusted to ensure complete vulcanization.
Profiles cooled and optionally calibrated using vacuum sizing or laser measurement for tight dimensional control.
Cutting to length, vulcanized or adhesive splicing (for closed loops), notching, drilling, PSA adhesive backing. Spools or straight-cut.

DFM Tips for Silicone Extrusion
- Cross-Section Uniformity: Uniform wall thickness ensures even cure. Avoid sudden section changes.
- Internal Radii: Minimum 0.5 mm internal corner radius. Sharp corners cause flow problems and stress concentration.
- Tolerances: Standard ±0.2 mm for small profiles; larger profiles ±0.3–0.5 mm.
- Splicing: For closed loops (O-frames, door seals), specify vulcanized or adhesive joint. Vulcanized splices are strongest.
- Hardness & Flexibility: Shore A 20–40 for flexible applications; Shore A 60–80 for dimensional stability.
