DFM Tips for Rubber Compression Molding
- Shrinkage: Rubber shrinks 1.5–3% after curing. Confirm compound-specific shrink rate with our engineers before mold cut.
- Flash Control: Compression molding always produces flash. Design parting lines away from functional sealing surfaces.
- Wall Thickness: Uniform 1.5–10 mm for even cure. Avoid thick sections (>15 mm) which risk porosity.
- Tolerance: Standard ±0.25 mm. Tighter tolerances achievable but increase cost and scrap rate.
